Sailing and sunbathing

After a grand departure from Arendal in Norway, we set sail for sunny Spain. For eight days you can enjoy sailing and sunbathing on an exciting ocean voyage over the North Sea, through the English Channel and across the Bay of Biscay to the beautiful city of La Coruña on the northwest coast of Spain.

It´s a wonderful experience to sail towards Southern Europe! Each day, the climate becomes milder and the temperature rises. Without internet coverage, the voyage is also a delightful “detox” from everyday focus digital availability.

Tall Ships Races

In La Coruña a long-awaited Tall Ships Races festival awaits, and the city will be buzzing with life and sailing ships from all over the world. Among other things, La Coruña offers it´s visitors lovely beaches, historical sites and a wonderful taste of the Spanish food culture.

Sail training

Life on board a big saling ship is something quite out of the ordinary. As a trainee on Norway´s largest tall ship you´ll become an important member of the crew. In fact, without the efforts of the trainees, it is not possible to sail a ship on Statsraad Lehmkuhls size!

Don´t worry if this is your first encounter with a tall ship! Our experienced and friendly crew will teach all you need to know about sailing maneuvers, how to mend the helm, set the sail, pull the ropes and many other skills.

To climb the rigging, or “go aloft”, is a voluntary activity. But we encourage anyone who is a little unsure to give it a try, because it often becomes an exciting highlight for many trainees. And there is no shame in turning around.

In addition to fantastic nature experiences, the extraordinary surroundings and the activities on board will give you a wonderful sense of achievement.
