Statsraad Lehmkuhl visits Cadiz September 9-15 2021.
Cádiz is located in southwestern Spain, not far from the Strait of Gibraltar, the entrance to the Mediterranean. The city is located on what once was an island in the Bay of Cádiz. It is one of the world's oldest port cities, built around 1100 BCE.
When the great European voyages of discovery began in the 15th century, Cádiz became one of Spain's main cities. Two of Columbus' journeys started from here.
