The One Ocean Expedition

The One Ocean Expedition is a circumnavigation of the world by the Norwegian tall ship Statsraad Lehmkuhl. The expedition starts on 20 August 2021 and lasts until April 2023. For twenty months, Statsraad Lehmkuhl will sail 55 000 nautical miles and visit 36 ports worldwide. The expedtion is a recognized part of the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development. Its goal is to to create attention and share knowledge about the crucial role of the ocean for a sustainable development in a global perspective. The ship is equipped with modern instrumentation and will collect high-quality data of ocean physics, chemistry and biology continuously throughout the voyage. Everyone can follow the expedition on line, and parts of the expedition will also be open for you to join on board with us! Statsraad Lehmkuhl is currently sailing with Norway's public TV-station NRK along the Norwegian coast and the voyage is being broadcasted live every day. Sail away parade from Arendal!
Departure day is coming up! On 20 August, we set sail for the very first leg of the One Ocean Expedition! We hope to be escorted out of Arendal harbor by a large parade of local boats for the grand Sail Away-departure! The event will be broadcasted live on facebook. The first leg will take us to beutiful La Coruña in Spain.
