Expedition log

The day started with sail-setting in order to maintain our average speed in a somewhat weaker wind, and after another pretty and prolonged sunset, the evening will end with a movie showing on the Mainsail. It’s always interesting to see which of the mandatory film titles will be chosen, Master and Commander, Moby Dick or Pirates of the Caribbean. We have also had another sampling stop and for the first time on this voyage even whale sighting – albeit in the distance. That is not very impressive for an ocean crossing of more than 3000 nm, but we do have a couple more days at sea and are hoping to find more sea life as we approach the landmasses. In the meantime, on this first Sunday in Advent, Santa’s workshop has been established in the crew mess … Happy Advent wishes from Captain M. A. Seidl and crew
