Expedition log

The wind left us just after midnight, as it had to sooner or later, and we therefor had to continue under our “iron sail” in order to maintain our schedule. We expect to be under sail again already tomorrow and are happy to have put 8 days and 1300 nm miles, or 90 percent of the time and distance behind us under sail so far. We are far from unemployed, even if are not sailing, and the time is effectively used to carry out repairs, maintenance and training. Also, the preparations for our arrival in the Azores have a high priority now and there is more than enough work to be done before we are ready. The jobs are carried out enthusiastically and a birthday was celebrated with a song and some extra delicious cake during the afternoon coffee break.
